June 11th - Day Nine

We took a visit to the wind farm in the morning and had an opportunity to learn about how this particular farm is able to keep such high performance output. By regularly maintaining the turbines, this company is able to reduce the amount of broken wind turbines. In my opinion the wind farm is not very intrusive to look at, though this is often used as a reason not to build them. However, would you rather look at a clean wind farm or a dirty coal plant?

After the wind farm, we went to a village that was in sight of the plant. Here we had lunch and enjoyed some time at the beach. While I was walking along the beach, I had a hard time finding any life in the intertidal pools. Generally, this part of the ocean is teaming with life, but at this beach there was no biodiversity.
